About Linda Scales

Linda is a practising solicitor. With a background in commercial law, she specialises in copyright and related matters. She holds a BCL and LLM in Commercial Law from UCD.

Closely involved in the legislative process leading to the Copyright and Related Rights Act 2000 and with the recent review of the legislation in Ireland, Linda makes regular submissions to Government for clients identifying problems with the legislation. She has a particular interest in copyright reform.

In addition to her practice, Linda writes and lectures on copyright, including at UCD and the Law Society of Ireland. She is accredited as an expert for the purposes of various EU aid programmes and in that capacity has conducted projects to advise governmental agencies in Eastern Europe and Central Asia about intellectual property enforcement.
